When a loved one dies, if the trust is not yet set up or the valuable assets were not funded in a Trust, the assets must be administered and distributed under the court supervision. Such a process is called probate. The probate process is to ensure that the loved one’s assets will be distributed according to his/her wishes in the Will, or if there is no Will, will be distributed according to Californian Law of Succession. Unfortunately, this process will delay the beneficiaries obtaining the properties and often bears hefty fees and costs.
On top of that the families will deal with the grief of the loss of a loved one, they will have to face the sometimes-complex court procedures.
