Sunny Rickard
Sunny Rickard is principal attorney at Rickard Law Offices. Her practice focuses on international estate planning, domestic estate planning, pre-immigration planning, trust administration and probate. Through her work in these areas Ms. Rickard assists client to establish comprehensive estate plans for their families and business, including revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, wills, special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts and entity formations. She also performs probate proceedings and trust administration.
Ms. Rickard was born in China, and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering form Dalian University of Technology and Master’s degree in Management from Dalian University of Technology. Ms. Rickard earned her Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University, School of Law. While in law school she worked in immigration and estate planning.
Additionally, she assisted clients with business and family based immigration, especially in the areas of Investment Visas (EB-5), Intracompany Transferee Visas (L-1) and Managers and Executive Transferees Visas (EB-1C), which provides her an excellent background to understand the needs of people immigrating to the U.S.
Ms. Rickard is a frequent speaker in her area of practices. She has engaged in many public speaking events on the topics of pre-immigration estate planning, basic estate planning, asset protection for business in the US, business succession planning and she is a contributor in the local media and newspapers. She is the member of Wealth Counsel, a national organization for estate planning professionals in pursuit of practice excellence; she is a member of State Bar of California and a member of the Trusts & Estates section and Immigration Section of the San Diego County Bar Association.
